Warnham CE Primary School Newsletter
JUNE 2018

Dear Parents & Carers

Thank you for all of your help with our walk to the Deer Park last week. The children had such an amazing time running and exploring the woods and the fields. We enjoyed a wonderful picnic together on the lawn before the children went dashing around the Lucas’ land once again.

All children were beautifully behaved, respectful of someone else’s home and environment and gave a huge THANK YOU at the end. We all reflected upon how lucky the children are to live within the countryside and amongst such a generous community who make experiences like this possible.

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Shirley Kirby

New Classes

Children will be meeting their new teacher (and teaching assistants – where possible) on Thursday 28th June.

On Wednesday 27th June, children will learn who will be teaching them next year through a conversation with their current classteacher. For those children who may struggle a little more with transition, they will be supported in this conversation by teaching assistants and Mrs Gordon (SENCo). These children will also come home with a ‘transition book’ to support them further.

I will write to parents / carers on Wednesday 27th June about class teachers for the next academic year, so that you can support children during the evening before their transition day.

New Website

I hope that you are enjoying our new and improved website. I will now be posting my newsletters to you in the format of a ‘blog’ which you can access via the website. For those of you who have not got a Twitter account, you can also see our Twitter feed on the website, so that you can keep up-to-date with all of the wonderful, creative learning that takes place in school.

A huge thank you to Mrs Collingwood, Mrs Rugg and Mr Peskett for providing us with such a beautiful website.

As you may be aware, children all over the school have been completing a variety of assessments this term. These have ranged from the Year 6 and Year 2 SATs to phonics tests in Year 1. I am delighted to say that the children have shown such amazing courage, resilience and work ethic in how they approach these assessments. The teachers have been incredibly supportive resulting in a really positive experience for everyone. Upon first impressions, it seems that the children have achieved very highly indeed – as a school we really seem to be moving from strength to strength!
